What are our submission requirements? Right now, we are accepting submissions for our first issue: Apparel Alchemy from young authors ages 12-21 across the world!

Showcase the craftsmanship behind sustainable fashion by writing about artisans and their traditional techniques that contribute to ethical and timeless designs. Fashion is a pervasive presence in nearly all cultures, and each society breathes life into its garments differently. Give us stories about the hands that weave these fabrics. Showcase rising designers making their way into headlines. Open the worldwide discussion of processes and innovations, forging a path towards a more harmonious future.​
Submission Guidelines
What to submit:
personal stories - up to 2,000 words
fashion reviews and recommendations - up to 2,500 words
fashion analysis pieces over people or communities (please be respectful!)- up to 2,500 words
well-researched essays and articles (include works cited) - up to 3,500 words
poetry/creative writing - up to 1,000 words
event coverage - up to 2,500 words
What to avoid:
promotional content
misleading information
previously published work (see q + a below)

This is a safe space to discuss all things fashion inclusively and your voices are always welcome! After you've submitted your piece, you will receive an email within 1-3 days letting you know if it has been accepted.

How to Submit
1. To submit a digital work, email a doc, .docx, or .pdf* file to ethicthreadsreview.com.
2. Use a clear subject line for the email that includes the title of the work, a dash, and then its genre (ex: Submission for Ethic Threads Review: Title - Event Coverage).
3. In the body of the email, include essential details about the submitted work, such as the title, genre, and a brief summary if applicable.
4. Provide a short author bio about yourself. Include relevant information about yourself, such as your name, age, background, fun facts, and/or writing experience you'd like to highlight.
5. If you are under the age of 13, please have a parent send an email with their permission to publish your personal author bio.
6. You'll receive a response no more than 3 days later!

What types of submissions are you looking for?

Provide details about the preferred genres, themes, or styles of content you are seeking. This helps contributors tailor their submissions to your magazine's focus.

What rights do you request from contributors?

We request first-word rights (the right to be the first platform to submit your work with minor exceptions), however, the contributor has the right to publish the work elsewhere at a later date.

How long does it take to hear back about a submission?

Around 1-3 days.

When will the next issue be published?

As the magazine is just starting, we hope to publish issues on a monthly or bi-monthly basis to begin. After the first few months of our launch, a more organized and consistent schedule for the issues will be established.

Do you accept previously published work?

We do not accept works that have been previously published as we request first publishing rights. However, works that have been published on personal websites or on social media are fine!
